Stuart Martin and Fra Fee to Star in Zack Snyder’s Upcoming Film The Last Photograph

Coming Soon Trending News

Zack Snyder is finally bringing his long-awaited passion project, The Last Photograph, to life with Stuart Martin and Fra Fee set to star. Fresh off their work with Zack  Snyder on the Rebel Moon franchise, the actors will reunite with the director for the upcoming drama, which recently secured financing and is now moving forward as his next feature.

Plot

The story follows an ex-DEA operative who must return to the mountains of South America after the brutal murders of his diplomat relatives leave their children missing. Teaming up with a washed-up war photographer, the only person to have seen the killers, he sets out determined to rescue his niece and nephews. What begins as a desperate mission soon becomes a haunting journey into the unknown, forcing him to confront not only the dangers of the wilderness but also the ghosts of his past. As reality and the surreal begin to blur, the quest for truth and survival grows even more perilous.

Setting

Production on The Last Photograph is officially underway this month, with filming scheduled to run through November across locations in Iceland, Colombia, and Los Angeles. Snyder will direct from a screenplay by Kurt Johnstad, based on a story he co-created. The film is being produced by Snyder alongside Deborah Snyder and Wesley Coller under their Stone Quarry banner, in partnership with longtime collaborator Gianni Nunnari of Hollywood Gang Productions, with Alisha Stickney serving as co-producer.

Snyder has been eager to make The Last Photograph for years, but his schedule directing large-scale blockbusters repeatedly forced him to put the project aside. With a rare gap in his slate and the chance to reunite with Martin and Fee, actorswith whom hehad developed a strong creative bond on Rebel Moon, the timing finally aligned. Once financing was secured, pre-production moved quickly, allowing Snyder to officially set the film in motion. He is represented by CAA and Sloane Offer Weber & Dern.

“The idea of taking the camera in hand and simply intimately making a movie is very appealing to me,” Snyder said. “The Last Photograph is a meditation on life and death, embodying some of the trials that I have experienced in my own life and the exploration of those ideas through image making.”

The project has also secured approval for the CINA incentive (Audiovisual Investment Certificate), granted by the Colombian government and administered by Proimágenes Colombia, a tax discount equivalent to 35% of expenditures on audiovisual services in the country.

Conclusion

With production underway and Snyder’s vision finally moving forward, The Last Photograph is shaping up to be one of his most personal and anticipated projects yet. Fans will be eager to see how this intimate, emotional drama compares to the director’s signature blockbuster spectacles.
