WWE’s Jade Cargill & Jonathan Majors Star in Action Thriller ‘True Threat’

WWE superstar Jade Cargill will make her acting debut starring alongside Jonathan Majors in the upcoming action film “True Threat”, directed by Gerard McMurray. The movie, set in Harlem, boasts an impressive production team, including producers Basil Iwanyk, Charlamagne Tha God, and Alexis Garcia.

In the action-packed film “True Threat,” Jonathan Majors plays Vernon Threat, a Special Forces operative seeking revenge for his son’s murder in Harlem. Jade Cargill joins the cast as Meeka, a ruthless lieutenant of the Apollo Kids gang who controls the building’s red-light district and wields significant power. The role promises to showcase Cargill’s athleticism in an intense, physical performance.

Jade Cargill’s Hollywood opportunity comes after a breakout performance at WrestleMania 41, showcasing her rising star power. Since joining WWE, she has quickly become one of the company’s most prominent new talents.

According to Deadline, director Gerard McMurray expressed his enthusiasm for Jade Cargill’s casting, stating, “She’s a unique talent with a compelling blend of athleticism, charisma, and on-camera control. Jade brings the presence and precision required for the role of Meeka, and I believe audiences will discover a new side of her in this film.”
The producers stated that their mission is to promote fresh talent and perspectives in action films, and Jade Cargill embodies the dynamic energy they aim to bring to the global stage. Already a prominent figure in sports and entertainment, they believe her film debut is just the start of her cinematic journey.

Gerard McMurray co-wrote the script for “True Threat” with Hodge K. Johnson, while Larnell Stovall handled the action design. Notably, the film showcases 52 Blocks, a Black American martial arts style, in a major cinematic debut. “True Threat” marks CAT5’s second production, following “A Working Man,” David Ayer’s film starring Jason Statham that debuted at #1 at the US box office.
