Veteran Nollywood actress Peju Ogunmola is finding strength after the heartbreaking loss of her only son, Ayomikun Oluwanisola, earlier this year. Her recent return to the screen marks a powerful moment of resilience and healing.

In a deeply emotional chapter of her life, Peju Ogunmola, one of Nollywood’s most respected actresses, has begun to reclaim her passion for acting following the loss of her only son, Ayomikun Oluwanisola. The young man passed away in September 2025 after a brief illness in Ibadan, according to the family’s spokesperson. Contrary to rumors circulating online, his death was not the result of a domestic accident.

Ayomikun was the son of Peju and her husband, veteran actor Sunday Omobolanle, popularly known as Papi Luwe. His passing sent shockwaves through the Nollywood community, with tributes pouring in from colleagues and fans alike. Actress Biola Adebayo described the loss as “devastating and heartbreaking,” while Odunlade Adekola offered prayers and comfort to the grieving family.

A Mother’s Grief, A Public Tribute

Peju Ogunmola remained silent for weeks, mourning privately. But on November 1, she broke her silence with a heartfelt Instagram post that resonated deeply with her followers. Wearing a “Barbie” shirt and seated calmly, she wrote:

The past months have been heavy, but your love, prayers, and condolences have carried me through the storm. Today I rise, stronger, grateful, and ready to embrace my passion again. The screens have missed me… and I’m back, doing what I love most.
