Nollywood Biola Adebayo has debunk claims of domestic violence in her marriage to ex-husband Oluseyi Akinrinde, calling out the false narratives surrounding their split.
Earlier, the actress made a birthday post for her ex-husband that doubled as a subtle announcement of their separation.
In her Instagram post, she wished Oluseyi Akinrinde a happy birthday, referring to him as “my ex-husband and baby daddy”.
She revealed they’ve been separated since April 2024 and are committed to co-parenting their son in a peaceful and mature manner.
The actress also apologized to those who might feel disappointed by the marriage breakup, stressing that she had wished the marriage had worked, but it was best to stay alive to tell the story.
She wrote: “To everyone who feels disappointed, I’m sincerely sorry. I wish it had worked, but it’s better to stay alive to tell the story. Please keep us in your prayers.”
However, the post sparked widespread speculations among online users, with many jumping into conclusion that the actress had been a victim of domestic violence during their marriage.
In response, Biola Adebayo directly addressed the rumors, by editing the post, claiming that she has never suffered any form of physical abuse while she was with Oluseyi.
She wrote: “Please note: we never! I mean never had any physical abuse or domestic issue from either of us. (Seyi has never laid a finger on and I never did as well)”
