Mothers are primary caregiver: Etim-Effiong

Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong has made a compelling point, stating that mothers are indeed the primary caregivers to children.
During a conversation with his wife, Toyosi, he stated that women are naturally suited for caregiving due to their biological role to carry and nurture a child.

He emphasized that while the fathers contribute, mothers are best equipped to meet children’s needs, especially during the early years.
He grounded his argument in nature, noting that women’s role in pregnancy and childbirth naturally position them as primary caregivers.

Daniel jokingly added that if men were meant to be primary caregivers, nature would have designed them to get pregnant.

“The woman is better equipped at that stage in the child’s life to cater to the needs of that child. Does the father play a role ? Yes but primarily, the first caregiver to the child it’s the mother. I don’t think the role changes much even after the child is born. If nature intended it that way, nature would have given the man the pregnancy,” he said.
