“Monster Summer,” directed by David Henrie and starring Mason Thames and Mel Gibson, is set to arrive on Paramount+ with Showtime on July 1, marking its streaming debut.

The film, starring Mason Thames, Mel Gibson, Kevin James, Lorraine Bracco, and Patrick Renna, was theatrically released by Pastime Pictures last October, coinciding with the Halloween season.

Monster Summer” follows a group of friends who team up with a seasoned detective to save their island from a mysterious and ominous presence.
David Henrie directed the film from a screenplay written by Cornelius Ulian and Bryan Schulz, with production credits going to Mark Fasano, James Henrie, John Blanford, and Dan McDonough.

Mason Thames is currently starring in the live-action remake of “How to Train Your Dragon” alongside Nico Parker and Gerard Butler. His recent credits include “The Black Phone” (2022), and he has upcoming roles in “The Black Phone 2” and “Regretting You.”

Mel Gibson recently directed the thriller “Flight Risk” starring Mark Wahlberg for Lionsgate, and he’s set to helm the sequel to “The Passion of the Christ.”
