Lifestyle Trending News

Ghanaian actor Mawuli Gavor has shared the story of his big career change, talking about the key moment that made him leave his job at the well-known accounting company KPMG to follow his dream of working in entertainment full-time.

During his interview on the Blackvolta Podcast, Gavor said that he first tried to keep his KPMG job while doing modeling work and photo shoots early in the morning.

The actor shared he was making only 770 cedis each month during this time, while trying to handle the busy schedules of both his office work and his entertainment goals. The big change came, he explained, when a brand offered to pay him the same amount he made in a whole year at his office job.

This amazing offer made him think differently about regular job earnings and gave him the courage to quit his job. For Gavor, moving to entertainment was about more than just making more money, it was about getting personal freedom and being able to control his own time.

This life-changing experience helped him decide to focus completely on acting and other entertainment work.

Looking back, Gavor said: “When someone gives you your whole year’s salary in one day, not even one month, but one day – it changes how you think about regular 9-to-5 jobs. This is one of the main reasons I find it hard to go back to living that way. I learned that if you can find a way to work in the creative world, you don’t necessarily make much more money, but you save so much more time.”
