Award-winning Nigerian filmmaker Kemi Adetiba has disclosed that she may require a third surgery to treat fibroids. She shared this update in response to an Instagram post by actress Ini Dima-Okojie, who called for increased awareness and the development of a possible cure for fibroids.
Commenting on the post, Kemi wrote: “I’ve had surgery twice for this already, and it now seems I might need a third. Sigh.”
Kemi first publicly discussed her struggle with fibroids in 2015, describing her experience as an extreme case that nearly resulted in life-threatening anaemia. At the time, she credited her Nigerian doctor for saving her life. Her latest revelation underscores the recurring nature of fibroids and sheds light on the ongoing health battles many women face due to the condition.
