Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Issa Rae is set to produce and star in director Ninian comedic thriller Good People, Bad Things.
Good People, Bad Things focuses on Rae as a stressed-out woman who finds herself lost in an apparently infinite parking garage and soon realizes she is not alone. The film marks Rae’s third MRC project following 2020’s The Lovebirds and 2023’s American Fiction.
MRC’s recent films include G20, Saltburn, American Fiction and Fair Play, and the studio is behind such series as Poker Face, Terminal List and Ted. It boasts such forthcoming features as Wuthering Heights with Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, The Gallerist and The Only Living Pickpocket in New York.
Issa Rae is best known for creating and starring in HBO’s Emmy-winning and Golden Globe-nominated comedy Insecure, Rae has most recently been seen starring opposite Emma Corrin and Awkwafina in “Hotel Reverie,” an AI-themed episode from Black Mirror‘s critically acclaimed seventh season. Other recent credits include Barbie and American Fiction. She is repped by CAA, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
