I Am Anis (2025) is a powerful Nigerian drama directed and produced by Biodun Stephen, inspired by true events and anchored by themes of judgment, redemption, and empathy.

Premiering on March 21, 2025, exclusively via Circuits TV’s virtual cinema platform, the film follows Anisola Williams—a wealthy oil magnate whose carefully guarded past as a sex worker is exposed during her son’s introduction ceremony, threatening to unravel her reformed life. Told in three acts—Rebellion, Repercussions, and Redemption—the narrative traces Anisola’s journey from a troubled youth to a revered matriarch facing social stigma.

With Shaffy Bello portraying the older Anisola and Lina Idoko as her younger self, the cast also includes Tina Mba, Charles Inojie, Toyin Oshinaike, Debo Adedayo (Mr Macaroni), Rykardo Agbor, Martha Ehinome Orhiere, Chimela Nwachukwu, and Karen Spikes.

Co-written by Mannie Oiseomaye and Biodun Stephen, the film has earned critical praise for its emotional depth, nuanced performances, and bold storytelling structure—especially its use of flashbacks and its alignment with the #NudgeDontJudge campaign, which advocates empathy over condemnation.
