Peacock has exciting news for horror fans with the announcement that Callum Vinson (Chucky, Long Bright River) has been cast as Jason Voorhees in the prequel series Crystal Lake. This collaboration with A24 centers on the story of Pamela Voorhees, played by Linda Cardellini, the mother of the infamous hockey-mask-wearing serial killer.

In the Friday the 13th franchise, Crystal Lake is a pivotal location, a town, a lake, and a summer camp that sets the stage for horror. Jason Voorhees drowned in the lake as a child, triggering his mother Pamela’s killing spree at Camp Crystal Lake to avenge his death. After witnessing his mother’s decapitation by a camp counselor, Jason embarks on his murderous path across 12 films.
