Blessing CEO Reacts To Fiancé IVD’s Arrest Ahead Of Planned Qatar Wedding

Blessing CEO has publicly expressed distress over the arrest of her fiancé, Ikechukwu Ogbonna—popularly known as IVD—just days before their scheduled wedding in Qatar. IVD, a well-known celebrity auto dealer, was reportedly apprehended on Friday, August 1, 2025, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos while preparing to board a flight for their wedding ceremony abroad.

The arrest is said to be connected to an ongoing legal case involving the death of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna, who passed away in October 2022. IVD currently faces charges of involuntary manslaughter in relation to the incident.

Reacting to the arrest, Blessing CEO took to Instagram to voice her outrage, labeling the situation unjust and politically motivated. She argued that no official court order had been issued to restrict IVD’s travel and accused the authorities of acting unfairly. According to her, the arrest was “a game of politics and dirty emotions,” further suggesting that tribal bias may be influencing the legal proceedings. She also claimed that no formal case file or official documentation was presented during IVD’s detention.

The couple had planned to wed on Saturday, August 2, 2025, but IVD’s arrest has thrown those plans into uncertainty. Reports indicate that he may remain in custody until at least Monday, August 4, 2025, pending further court action. As of now, the status of their wedding and travel plans remains unclear, with no official word on whether the ceremony will be postponed or canceled.
