Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye, latest hit film “To Be A Friend”(T.B.A.F) was removed from YouTube after accumulating nearly 6 million views due to copyright infringement issues with the soundtrack.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, the actress revealed that the removal was due to music rights issues in the film. Without going into further details, she hinted that the situation might require the team to re-upload the movie and essentially start over.

She wrote: “To Be A Friend is no longer on the YouTube channel, it’s sad, but life goes on. We had a situation with copyright issues regarding the sound. No, we didn’t go through back doors, and yes, we picked the right channel, but it is what it is.

“Yeah, I wish I could explain more, but sadly, I can’t. I probably eventually will, but not now. So it’s no longer on the YouTube channel, but please, please, please, we might have to re-upload, which means we might have to start all over again from the beginning. It’s almost at six million views, but it is what it is.

“If we reupload and start from where we stopped, which is picking up from the 6 million views, I will appreciate if you watch, like, share, subscribe and if we have to start all over again, I will super duper appreciate it if you share to your friends, family, post on your page, story, anywhere just to help support this girl because I can’t do it without you.

“And yeah, I don’t know what to say, the movie is down and we are going to be back soon. Let’s see how it goes. Are we going to get six million views? I don’t know. Are we going to get over six million views? I don’t know, but God is God; he sits upon his throne and watches over us.”

Since its release in July, the movie had been performing really well, starring Bimbo Ademoye, Uzo Arukwe, Deyemi Okanlawon, and Kunle Remi.
The movie explores the theme of friendship and betrayal, which resonated strongly with audiences, making the copyright setback even more painful for both Bimbo and her fans.
