Nollywood actor Afeez Owo has revealed that his marriage to fellow actress Mide Martins nearly collapsed back in 2014. At the time, rumours spread online that the couple had separated, but they firmly denied the claims.
However, in a recent interview on the YouTube podcast Behind The List, Afeez admitted they had a serious fight then, and social media only worsened the situation. The actor further confessed that he did not handle the issue properly and even feared their marriage was on the brink of collapse at the time. He also noted that the misunderstanding was something they could have easily resolved privately, but online speculation escalated it beyond control.

Reflecting on the incident, Afeez said,
“There was a time rumours spread that my wife and I had separated. In truth, that was the first and only serious fight we’ve ever had in our marriage. Thankfully, we reconciled and came back together. I admit I didn’t handle it well. I scattered things, and at some point, I even thought, Is this how it’s going to end? Social media made it worse because it was something we should have resolved privately. Out of anger, I left and stayed in a hotel for two days, while she went online saying I had abandoned her and the kids. But by God’s grace, we overcame it.”
