The legendary actor, Adebayo Salami, is set to release a movie marking his 60th year in the entertainment industry.
Adebayo Salami was born on May 9, 1953, and he started acting in 1964, enjoying a six-year decade of an excellent acting career.
In a recent video shared by Femi Adebayo, his son, the veteran actor will make his 60-year journey in the industry with the film titled ‘Her Excellency’. It will premiere on June 29 and be available in cinemas on July 4.
“I am going to take a pause and give you that honor. Daddy has spent 60 years in the entertainment industry. Yes, 60 is big and much. And we are here to honor and celebrate Daddy with a huge film coming to the cinemas from the 4th of July.”
“It is titled ‘Her Excellency’. It is Daddy’s film. We are going to be doing the premiere on the 29th of June. It is to celebrate and honor the fact that he has spent 60 years in this industry.”
He continued by saying there was no better way to honor his father’s impact in the industry, adding that ‘Her Excellency “reflects the depth of his passion and dedication to the craft.
“What better way to honor this incredible milestone than with the release of his latest masterpiece: Her Excellency — a film that reflects not just his artistry, but the depth of his passion and dedication to this craft,” he wrote.
“This moment isn’t just for him, it’s for every dreamer, every creative, every artist who dares to build, to sacrifice, to endure.
Daddy, your legacy lights the path for generations. I remain forever grateful to call you father and teacher.”
Adebayo Salami launched his acting career with Ojo Ladipo’s (Baba Mero ) Young Concert Party Group, which later became the Awada Keri Keri Theatre Group.
He made his cinematic debut in the first-ever Yoruba film, ‘Ajani Ogun’, where the late Adeyemi Afolayan played the lead role.
Salami produced his first film, Ogun Ajaye (1985), under the Awada Keri Keri banner. Ever since then, he has become a notable force in the Yoruba film industry as a producer and director.
His artistic legacy lives on through his sons, Femi Adebayo, Tope Adebayo, and Sodiq Adebayo, who have carved out their success as actors and producers.
