“3 Cold Dishes” is an upcoming Pan-African thriller that bridges Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, and Benin through a powerful narrative of survival and revenge.
The film follows three women, Esosa, Fatouma, and Giselle from Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, and Benin who were trafficked as teenagers. Seventeen years later, they reunite to execute a carefully planned, multi-country revenge plot against the powerful men who orchestrated their suffering. The story spans decades of pain and planning as these survivors seek justice across West Africa.
The movie tackles human trafficking head-on while exploring themes of resilience, sisterhood, and justice. The film examines how trafficking networks operate across borders and celebrates the strength found in unity across different African cultures. It’s ultimately about survivors reclaiming their power and ensuring others don’t face the same fate.
3 Cold Dishes was directed by Asurf Oluseyi winner of the 2016 AMVCA award for Best Short Film. He brings his proven storytelling abilities to this ambitious project while Executive Producer Burna Boy makes his filmmaking debut through Spaceship Films, marking an exciting crossover from music to cinema. The screenplay is by Tomi Adesina.
3 Cold Dishes premieres on November 7, 2025. The film has already earned double nominations for Best African Actress and Best Screenplay at the Septimius Awards.
