Nollywood actress and singer Angela Okorie has spoken out amid controversy linking her to a group chat allegedly tied to the late singer Mohbad’s case. In a recent statement, Okorie clarified that she exited the group as soon as she realized the discussions were not aligned with her values.
She explained that she was added to the group chat without her consent and, upon noticing the direction of the conversations, chose to leave rather than be associated with any narrative that could harm her reputation or appear to exploit Mohbad’s tragic passing.
“I didn’t want to be part of any group that wasn’t focused on genuine justice for Mohbad. I left immediately,” Angela Okorie stated.
The controversy erupted after screenshots from the group chat—allegedly involving celebrities and influencers—surfaced online, sparking public outrage over perceived insensitivity and ulterior motives.
Angela has continued to emphasize that her stance is rooted in truth and justice. She urged the public to avoid dragging uninvolved individuals into the matter, warning against the spread of misinformation.
