Schwarzenegger’s Fubar Canceled by Netflix

Netflix has abruptly canceled ‘Fubar’ starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, barely six weeks after its second season premiered on June 12, marking the end of the road for the show with no third season on the horizon.

The cancellation follows a disappointing response to the series’ second season, which had initially performed well in May 2023 thanks to Schwarzenegger’s star power. Co-star Monica Barbaro also earned an Oscar nomination for “A Complete Unknown” between the two seasons.
“Fubar’s” second season, released over two years after the first, struggled to gain traction on Netflix. It barely cracked the Top 10 for English-language series, ranking last with 2.2 million views in its first week, a significant drop from the 11 million views of the Season 1 premiere. The show peaked at #7 with 3.3 million views in its first full week and briefly reappeared at #10 with 1.8 million views in Week 3 before falling out of the Top 10.

The series “Fubar” follows a CIA operative (Schwarzenegger) nearing retirement who uncovers a family secret, prompting him to take on one final mission. In Season 2, Carrie-Anne Moss joins the cast as Greta Nelson, a former East German spy with a complicated past with Luke Brunner (Schwarzenegger).
The series was led by showrunner and executive producer Nick Santora, alongside Schwarzenegger and a team of producers including Adam Higgs, Scott Sullivan, and David Ellison.
