Get ready for the thrilling return of Arisu and his friends! Netflix has announced a September premiere for Alice in Borderland Season 3, and the first teaser is now available.
The new season of the hit series drops viewers back into the perilous alternate reality, following the success of Season 2, which debuted at No. 1 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 list for non-English TV shows.
Alice in Borderland is a Japanese thriller series based on the manga by Haro Aso. The story follows Ryota Arisu Segawa (Kento Yamazaki), a young man who finds himself transported to a mysterious parallel world known as the “Borderland.” There, he teams up with Yuzuha Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya), a skilled fighter, to survive a series of deadly games and challenges. As they navigate this strange world, they uncover the rules and secrets of the Borderland, all while trying to find a way back to their normal lives. The series explores themes of survival, human nature, and the blurred lines between life and death.
Building on the manga’s success, Season 3 delves further into the mysterious world, with Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya reprising their roles as Arisu and Usagi, under the direction of Shinsuke Sato.
According to the official synopsis, Season 3 finds Arisu and Usagi now married and living peacefully, though haunted by memories of the Borderland in dreams and visions. The plot kicks into gear when Usagi suddenly disappears, guided by Ryuji (Kento Kaku), a man studying the afterlife, as she returns to the Borderland. A devastated Arisu receives a visit from Banda, now a Borderland resident, who reveals Usagi’s whereabouts. Arisu must then follow her back into the dangerous world they believed they had escaped.
