Doctor Odyssey has been canceled, and it’s not coming back for another season.

The show was ABC’s last remaining scripted series without a renewal or cancellation decision, and now it’s been confirmed that it won’t be returning. According to Variety, the cast’s contracts are expiring with no indication of renewal.

The cast included notable actors like Joshua Jackson, Phillipa Soo, Sean Teale, Don Johnson, as well as Jacqueline Toboni, Marcus Emanuel Mitchell, Rick Cosnett, and Laura Harrier in recurring roles.
The show also featured special guest stars, including Rachel Dratch, Shania Twain, Angela Bassett, and Kelsea Ballerini.

The medical drama ‘Doctor Odyssey’ followed Dr. Bankman’s team as they navigated high-pressure emergencies on a luxury cruise ship. Still, despite its star-studded cast, it didn’t gain enough traction for a second season.

Doctor Odyssey was created by Ryan Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz, and Joe Baken, who also served as executive producers, alongside a team of producers including Joshua Jackson and others.
While ABC hasn’t confirmed it publicly, the show’s removal from the network’s upcoming lineup and the end of cast contracts imply the decision has been made.
The cancellation marks a gentle goodbye to a show that brought a fresh perspective to the medical drama genre.
