Veteran Yoruba actor and musician Yemi My Lover has voiced his disappointment with Nigerian rapper Olamide. In a recent interview, Yemi shared that although Olamide mentioned his name in one of his popular songs, the rapper has not responded to his repeated efforts to make contact.
Yemi explained that he initially felt honored by the mention and hoped it would lead to some form of recognition or even a collaboration. However, he expressed frustration that his attempts to reach Olamide went unanswered.
“I called him several times, but he never picked up,” Yemi said. He added that while he values the acknowledgment, he believes there should be mutual respect, especially when a public figure’s name is referenced in another artist’s work.
