May Edochie’s lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, addresses the speculations surrounding the status of her divorce with her estranged husband Yul Edochie.
Just recently, Yul Edochie and Judy Austin had a baby on May 23, 2025.
This follows month of public fascination with the Edochie family drama sparked by Yul’s introduction of second wife Judy. This move drew intense criticism and resulted in May seeking divorce.
The lawyer revealed that the divorce process is almost complete with the final steps being formalizing the dissolution and claiming damages.
Ugwuonye wrote: “Many of you are fixated on when the divorce will be final. But that’s not the only issue in court. People ignore the fact that we’ve already resolved issues like custody and property sharing.”
He also slammed fans and social media users who keep pressing for the timeline of May’s divorce, accusing them of being driven by gossip, not genuine concern. He added: “May is not in any form of bondage because the divorce isn’t finalized. She’s free to live her life, and remarrying is not even a priority for her right now.”
May’s lawyer reported she’s doing great, caring for her children asking the public to give her space.
He added: “May appreciates your support, but extra pressure doesn’t help. It’s actually disruptive”
