HBO has officially launched its first look at its upcoming mini-drama starring the talented South African actress Thuso Mbedu in Task, an upcoming series created by Brad ingelsby who is known for his compelling character driven narratives.
The actress portrays as a sergeant in a task force dedicated to combating violent crime wave in a working class Philadelphia neighborhood. She stars alongside Oscar nominee Mark Ruffalo who is a hardened FBI agent, he also led the team in the series.
Mbedu is set to captivate the audiences in this anticipated series.Cast of the show include Tom Pelphrey, Emilia Jones, Raúl Castillo, Jamie McShane, Sam Keeley, Fabien Frankel and Alison Oliver.
The show will debut on Showmax for South African audiences this September.
Mbedu’s international career continues to rise. After earning two International Emmy nominations for her breakout role in “Is’thunzi,” she went on to star in “The Underground Railroad,” earning a Critics Choice nomination.
She also received the Black Reel Breakthrough Actress Award for her performance in “The Woman King,” and has lent her voice to “Castlevania: Nocturne” and Disney’s “Mufasa: The Lion King.” As the release date approaches, anticipation for Task continues to build, marking yet another milestone in Thuso Mbedu’s career.
