The 33-year-old actress revealed via Instagram that she has successfully completed boot camp training and officially become a U.S. citizen. Sharing a photo of herself proudly dressed in her Navy uniform, Grace expressed deep gratitude to God, her family, and everyone who supported her throughout the journey.

She wrote:
“Last week, I graduated from U.S. Navy boot camp as a Sailor and took the oath as a citizen of the United States. Nigeria raised me. America challenged me. I stand today stronger and more determined than ever. Thank you to everyone who believed in me. This is just the beginning. In honor of my Late Father – Naval CDR Asido Bassey Effah.”

Fans were especially touched by the milestone, recalling her 2021 name change from Belinda Effah to Grace Bassey, which she previously described as part of a spiritual rebirth.

In an earlier interview with The PUNCH, she explained that the name “Belinda” means “beautiful serpent,” and after a divine encounter, she believed God gave her a new name—Grace.

She shared that the name change signified a deeper personal transformation and alignment with her higher calling, adding that her core values and identity remained intact despite the change.

Her bold move has inspired many, highlighting a journey of faith, resilience, and reinvention.
