Trending News

Get ready for something special in animation. Arco brings a fresh vision to the screen blending futuristic imagination with heartfelt storytelling. The film is directed by Ugo Bienvenu, co-written with Félix de Givry, and produced by a team including Natalie Portman.

The story centres on Arco, a young boy from the distant future, who suddenly finds himself in the year 2075. There, he meets Iris a girl his age and together they embark on an adventure to set things right, while the world around them grapples with change.

Why This Film Stands Out

First, the visuals. Critics are already calling Arco “visually dazzling”. The film’s aesthetic draws comparisons to the works of Hayao Miyazaki and the graphic style of Moebius.

Second, the voice cast. Even though the main characters are children, the English-language cast features big names including Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Mark Ruffalo, Andy Samberg and Flea.

Third, the thematic depth. While accessible to younger viewers, the film doesn’t shy away from ideas about time, change, environment and hope.

All-Star Voice Cast Brings Arco to Life

Arco features an impressive ensemble of voices that bring depth, humor, and heart to the animated adventure. The English-language cast includes Will Ferrell, who adds his signature comedic charm, Mark Ruffalo, bringing warmth and gravitas, and America Ferrera, delivering emotional authenticity to her character.

Fans will also hear performances from Andy Samberg and Flea, adding energy and personality that make the film truly memorable. Even though the main characters are children, this all-star cast elevates the story, giving both younger and older audiences characters they can connect with.

Release & Recognition

Arco had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2025. It went on to win the Cristal for Best Feature at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in June.

In France, the theatrical release began on October 22, 2025. In the U.S., it opens in select theatres on November 14, 2025, with plans for a wider release in early 2026.

What It Means for Audiences

For fans of animation and sci-fi, Arco offers more than just entertainment. It presents a story of connection across time, reminding viewers that even in a future full of change, friendship and hope remain constant. Its striking visuals and emotional core make it ideal for families, animation enthusiasts, and anyone open to thoughtful storytelling.
