Super Troopers 3 has added Hannah Simone (New Girl) and Iqbal Theba (Glee) to its cast. The comedy is the latest instalment in the cult-favorite franchise from Broken Lizard and Searchlight Pictures.

About the Movie

Directed by Jay Chandrasekhar, the film is written by Broken Lizard’s comedy troupe. Returning cast members include Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske. Meanwhile, Brian Cox, Marisa Coughlan, Nat Faxon, Chace Crawford, and Andrew Dismukes are also confirmed. Richard Perello, who produced the earlier films, is back as producer.

Plot details remain under wraps, but the Super Troopers movies follow the hilarious antics of Vermont state troopers known for their pranks and slacker ways. The first film, released in 2001, became a cult hit after debuting at Sundance. It later won the Audience Award at SXSW. The long-awaited sequel, Super Troopers 2, arrived in 2018 with the same cast and creative team.

Hannah Simone’s Career

Simone is best known for her role as Cece on Fox’s hit sitcom New Girl, where she starred alongside Zooey Deschanel and Jake Johnson. She later appeared in Not Dead Yet on ABC/Hulu opposite Gina Rodriguez. On the film side, she acted in Band Aid, directed by Zoe Lister-Jones, and Killing Gunther with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Beyond acting, Simone has also created and produced pilots, showing her range as both performer and producer.

Iqbal Theba’s Career

Theba gained recognition as Principal Figgins in Fox’s Glee, a role he played for six seasons. He recently starred in Hulu’s Deli Boys as Baba, the family patriarch. His upcoming indie film, Days with Dandekar, will see him star and executive produce. Theba has also appeared in Hurricane with Holly Hunter and Mark Duplass, and Fractured alongside Bruce Dern and Julia Ormond.
